This article is relevant for pentesters who are looking to setup their payment details or who are troubleshooting payment errors.

Before a payout can happen, the following must be in order:
- Cobalt profile set up with full first and last name
- Tax form verified by Cobalt staff
- Have a valid payment method
Tax form
We require you to fill in and upload relevant tax forms (W-9 for US-persons and W8_BEN for non-US). We collect this information in order to be compliant with US financial regulations, and absolutely do not use or share your private information in any way.
If your tax form is not verified or you upload a new form, your payout will not be processed until a member of the Cobalt team verifies the document.
If you are experiencing delays with getting your tax form verified, please reach out to us at researcher-payouts@cobalt.io. Please note once your form is verified, it may take up to 2 business days for the payment to process.
Payment methods
When you set up your account, you will need to select your payment preference. We offer two ways to receive your payment: Paypal or a direct transfer to your bank account via Transferwise.
Paypal
Get your payment sent directly to your Paypal account.

Add in the email address linked to your Paypal account (note: it must be an email, the Paypal id does not work)
Direct Transfer (via Transferwise)
Get your payment sent directly to your bank account. Please note you do not need to create a Transferwise account to use this.

Transferwise Email
This field will auto-populate with the email you used to create your Cobalt account, not your Cobalt Core email address.
Bank Information
First, select the currency you wish to receive your payment in. Fill in your IBAN number if you are prompted to do so (see below if you are unable to fill in this field). You should be all set once you save your details.
Additional Information Required for Certain Currencies:
If the IBAN field is grayed out with 'N/A', we will need additional information from you to set up the direct transfer. Look at the below list and find the required information for your currency preference. Then send an email to researcher-payouts@cobalt.io with your currency and information so we can complete the set-up.
