General information about Cobalt's SSO via SAML.
Cobalt supports Single Sign-On (SSO) through Security Assertion Markup Language 2.0 (SAML 2.0).
SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) supports federated identity, which allows you to sign in to different domains with a single account. So, with SAML, when you sign in to Cobalt, our app verifies your identity with the identity provider (IdP) that you've configured.
Once users have SAML enabled they will no longer be able to gain access via the Cobalt platform. Users will have to go to their SSO provider (IdP) and Cobalt (as a Service Provider) pulls SAML assertions from your Identity Provider to authenticate your users.
We don't synchronize user datastores, so when leveraging an identity provider, all users must:
- be added to Cobalt and have confirmed email and password. Learn more on how to add a user to Cobalt.
- be provisioned within the customer's identity provider. Make sure to use the same email address for your IdP account and Cobalt.
Cobalt supports the following providers. Organization's owners will be able to configure SAML for their organization. Review the setup instructions below for more information.
